Sources of Numerical Analysis Code in Pascal
Numerical News From Days Gone By
(but still positively, definitely fit to print...)

ANNOUNCEMENT
The folks at Project JEDI are looking for knowledgeable and enthusiastic volunteers to help out with a new and incredibly worthwhile project: the
JEDI Math Library
Plans are underway to develop an open source mathematics library for Delphi (and possibly Kylix and Free Pascal) released under the Mozilla Public License (MPL). To contribute your ideas, knowledge, and/or source code, or just to check out the current progress, visit the JEDI-Math newsgroup.

New code listings I've also added several new links of general interest to folks doing numerical analysis in any language.

February 13, 2000
Today marks the debut of a new home address for the Numerical Methods in Pascal web site. NMP is finally being distributed via HTTP rather than FTP. (hmmmm...think that'll cause a whole horde of C++ and FORTRAN programmers to see the error of their ways, and begin coding all of their numerical methods exclusively in Pascal?)

New book listing: Borland Pascal Programs for Scientists and Engineers by Alan R. Miller.

June 14, 1999
New source code listing: Lluis Olle's SparLin unit for Delphi. SparLin is a port of Kenneth S. Kundert's NETLIB package Sparse 1.3, from the original C to Delphi's Object Pascal. Complete source code is available for download at this site.

New links: I've added a section for Pascal tutorials and on-line books oriented toward engineering mathematics.

CAS update: I've been informed that Jonathan Luyckx's MathWizard is NOT the only computer algebra system written in Pascal. There is also Fermat, a CAS available for both Macs and WinNT machines. However, for the time being anyway, the source code is proprietary (but see the Fermat FAQ).

May 23, 1999
New source code listing : Jonathan Luyckx's Computer Algebra System MathWizard. As far as I know, this is the only CAS written entirely in Pascal. Complete source code is available for download at this site.

New book listing : Introduction to Computational Science and Mathematics by Charles F. Van Loan, with programs written in Think Pascal.

Today marks the debut of a new page format. Like it? Love it? Hate it? Couldn't care less? No matter what your opinion, you can express it by directing your comments, suggestions, and/or complaints to me via e-mail. Alternately, if you'd rather use snail-mail, FAX, or voice, you'll find the relevant information on the contact page
